In wenb designing, it is very important to know the basics. You must learn how to utilize your HTML. You can use WordPad or NotePad ofr typing your HTML code. If you use a Mac, you can use the SimpleText. You may also use the SharePoint of  Microsoft if you want. Using these programs for your HTML code is very easy. You will not get confused anymore. You can save these codes in HTML to get a preview of them in your Microsoft Word or Adobe InDesign. This is the basics in making a web page.

Web Space

You must upload your web page on a web server, so that it will go to the cyber space. You can approach your business or your school so that you can get a web server for a smaller price or even for free. If you will not approach your school or your business, you must get a commercial provider so that you can easily afford your web server. You can also get your web server from your Internet Service Provider. You ISP may already give you the web server you need.

Purpose and Audience

You must determine the purpose of your website. You must also know who are your target audience. If you have these specifics already, you will be able to make the right decisions on what kind of information you will put on your web page and how your web page will look like.

Sample HTML

Create a new folder or make a directory where you will put our HTML document. This is where you will put your images and other files as well. Then open your text editor. This is where you will put those documents. Then save it with a “.htm” at the end of the file name. This is to make sure that it is saved as HTML.

Final Formatting

This time you can incorporate images on your HTML document. Before putting any image on your document, make sure you save this image on the folder where you placed all your documents. Do this to all the images you are planning to put on your website.

Preview

After you are done with the documents on your text editor and you are done formatting your documents, you will want to see a preview of what you have done. You have to save your document at the directory or folder you have created. Save you document then open your browser. Make sure you preview it on different browsers and different computers.

Upload

If you are happy with how your web page look like in the preview, you can then upload it to Cyber space. File Transfer Protocol is the most common and the standard way of uploading your web page in the Internet.
